Capra Course

Summer 2024

Welcome to Born Global, where we transform education into an adventure that combines passion, nature, and innovation. Our nonprofit is dedicated to applying nature-based solutions to tackle the world's significant challenges in ecological restoration, environmental technology, and social change-making. Part of this change and innovation is education which generates  solutions from a new (and ancient), interconnected paradigm.

This summer we invite you to join Born Global and Fritjof Capra to explore a novel, holistic way of approaching the pressing, converging challenges (crises) of our time.  The Capra Course is based on the revolutionary systems thinking textbook, The Systems View of Life. In this course you will learn to see the world through a systemic conception of life at the forefront of science, and its application in economics, management, politics, design, medicine and law.

This course will give you the conceptual tools to understand the nature of our systemic problems, and to recognize systemic solutions that are being developed by individuals and organisations around the world. Uniquely, this collaborative presentation is offered with an additional option: our focus on the intersection of systems thinking and biomimicry, and their application to real world problems.

We offer two options for partaking in the Capra Course this year:

The first is to attend  the Capra Course alone; and, the second is to join us on an expanded learning journey looking at the Capra Course content and systems thinking in relationship to living systems and biomimicry.

Centered around the Capra Course, and the Born Global program provides a deeper dive into the perspective, philosophy and practice of biomimicry.

We have curated  additional resources, group calls, teamwork possibilities, and reflection prompts which will take place in the Born Global learning portal. These focus on the intersection of industry-relevant applied systems thinking and nature-based solutions.
